Which cruise line is best for teens? Disney Cruise or Royal Caribbean?
I’m going on one of them in a couple of years for my Sweet Sixteen, and I wanted to know which was better. I’m looking for a cruise line that has plenty of stuff to do with my friends that are coming with me and other teens on the ship, fun stuff to do with the fam (of course my parents are coming, and maybe my aunt and uncle. I want them to have some fun too), good food, comfortable rooms, and just has a good atmosphere all together. If you could suggest one for me that would be awesome.
If you and your friends really want to be around Disney characters for your whole cruise and also a bunch of little kids then Disney is the one. But if you want to really have a fun on the ship and have a lot of teen activities then Royal Caribbean is best.
The ships that you want to go on are the Royal Caribbean Freedom Class, Oasis Class, and Voyager Class ships: You can look at the features of these ships on this Royal Caribbean web link: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/home.do;jsessionid=0000ggDjmuFKj0f1G4PcIWbsvmK:12hbiocus?cS=NAVBAR
These ships have the most things on board to do; like roller skating, ice skating, basketball, mini-golf, rock climbing wall, and on the Freedom and Oasis ships a surfing simulator called the Florider. And the new Oasis class ships (first one launching in Dec) will have a zip line on the ship. All of these activities are free, no fees charged for any of them. Skates and other sports equipment are provided free of charge. All of these ships also have a great free ice show performed by mostly former Olympic skaters.
The Royal Caribbean ships have a free program for teens called Adventure Ocean and a teen club called Fuel where teens can hang out in the evenings until about 2:00 AM, with a teen disco for them.
The best way to get the best price is to go on the dates when the fare is lowest. Fares will change about every week. Also, the Freedom class ships cruise from Miami and Port Canaveral and will have great prices because there is lots of competition from those ports from other cruise lines. The voyager Class ships cruise from several ports around the country.
The ships have a casino, lounges, pools, hot tubs, a gym, a show every night and an adults only area of the ship. So the rest of your family will have plenty to do.

Disney cruises are crazy expensive. Royal Caribbean cruises are too modest.. too luxurious.. there’s not a lot of fun things to do for teenagers. It’s basically for a grown-up atmosphere. Disney, I believe, is designated for the littler kids.
Try looking up Royal, Disney and Carnival and see what the differences are. Carnival has the best excursions (both C and R have great food) but Carnival is a party ship, so unless you like to drink AND you’re of age, it’s a good line. Of course, there’s LOADS to do on the "fun ships" as well!
